I have loved wall quotes for a long time but had never found any saying that I thought I’d want displayed in our home long term. Frankly I also doubted my ability to actually apply the words or use a stencil to paint it where I wanted it…..so I’ve been living vicariously via Pinterest boards and my talented friends homes.
Not anymore friends, I found the perfect product and words which now beautify our home!!
Vinyl Disorder is a company who provide custom vinyl decals, wall and car decals, band stickers and so much more. You can order in large quantities or as I did individually. They’ve made it super simple for folks like me who are decoratively (yes I think I’ve made that word up) challenged.
When I was browsing their site I had little hope of finding something I’d want to display when I came across their Christian scripture wall decal category and was shocked to see they offered both of my daughters life verses! I went ahead and ordered the 36″ versions of Ask, Seek, Knock and Be Strong and of Good Courage, both in white.
When they arrived I was pleased to see they were in a hard cardboard tube and came with very simple instructions to follow.
The decals come with 3 layers, a top sheet, the vinyl lettering and a back sheet.
Step 1 had me removing the back sheet.
Sounds simple right?
Well it’s not so simple, you have to go very slowly and use the plastic tool they include to rub the letters hard onto the top sheet so they don’t pull off with the back sheet.
Patience is apparently a virtue which I wasn’t born with….
Step 2 is to apply the decal to the wall.
First I would suggest using a level and mark the line which you want the decal to follow. As you can see I didn’t follow my own advice and it’s a bit tilted. It helped to have an assistant at this stage, the girls held the front sheet away from the wall as I applied it
Step 3 Remove the Top Sheet
Again the key here is to go SLOWLY and use the plastic tool to press the letters onto the wall and slowly remove the front sheet.
The Result
I think it speaks for itself, we’re delighted with the simplicity of the application and the look of our daughter’s life verse in her room.
Chelsea has promised me she’ll look at it EVERY night, she’s super excited and I am impressed with the fact it makes me look like I can decorate……now I’m trying to resist covering every room with these awesome wall decals.
