Celebrating National Coffee Day with KitchenAid Giveaway!

Today is National Coffee day and I am SUPER excited about it….and may have celebrated with more than one cup today. Coffee has become somewhat of a “thing” these days, once upon a time my father’s instant coffee would suffice but NO more! These days I adore my coffee made from fresh ground beans and funnily, I can taste the difference when it’s a low quality bean.

Coffee’s taste matters, if I’m going to look forward to my morning or after meal cup it had better be good! Sounds kind of snotty I know but this summer I gave up coffee for 2 whole LONG months to cleanse my system and now when I indulge I definitely have high standards.

Have you ever had a awful cup of coffee? Was it too bitter or too weak or even worse was the coffee maker so grungy that it soured the taste?

ICK.

There really is nothing worse than the thought of the GROSSOSITY (my new word) which can happen when one doesn’t EVER wash their coffee maker. We live in an area with very hard water and it shows itself often. Our fridge water dispenser, our kettle. dishwasher and coffee maker all need extra attention to ensure that we don’t get limescale build up. We’ve used harsh chemicals and vinegar with varying results but all of which left my house stinking!!

This week I was approached to try out affresh Coffeemaker Cleaner and I thought it would be interesting to see how it performs in relation to the harsh cleaners I’ve tried in the past.

For the review I decided to clean our single-serve coffee maker because quite frankly it needed it! The water reservoir had a limescale line and I’m sure the insides of the machine were just as bad.

The steps were on the side of the packaging:

Step 1: Fill the reservoir with water
Step 2: Drop 1 tablet into reservoir.
Step 3: Run 2 brew cycles selecting largest cup size, discarding water between brews.
Step 4: Empty remaining water from reservoir.
Step 5: Fill the reservoir with fresh water.
Step 6: Run 2 additional brew cycles to rinse the coffeemaker.

As I was reviewing the product, I felt it would be best if you all could see it in action so I videoed it. Please take a minute and see how easy it was to use and the outcome!

I was quite impressed with affresh Coffeemaker Cleaner, so much so that I’m going to buy the affresh Dishwasher Cleaner to see how it does.
