“No ordinary work done by a man is either as hard or as responsible as the work of a woman who is bringing up a family of small children; for upon her time and strength demands are made not only every hour of the day but often every hour of the night.” ~ Theodore Roosevelt

Marriage

“Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you. ” ~ Exodus 20:12

“What greater thing is there for human souls than to feel that they are joined for life – to be with each other in silent unspeakable memories.” ~George Eliot

It’s nice that you do have a loving family and it is a blessing.
SOme of us have toxic parents and we must make the difficult choice to not have them in our lives.

I’m so sorry to hear that Reb, I have friends in that situation and they’ve found a family among the amazing people in their lives.
