Shopping Is Painless With #SearsClubPoints

sears-logoWhen I see the blue Sears shopping bag come into my house I get excited! It’s a throwback emotion from my childhood which gets me every time. I grew up on small-town suburbia  where there weren’t many shops. My Mum firmly believed that Sears made quality products and she insisted that we do most of our shopping for clothing and Christmas toys there.

Back in those days we shopped by catalogue, who am I kidding we still do! I’m old-school….I still wait for the Christmas Wishbook from Sears to arrive so I can spend far too much time pouring over the pages, writing my name next to each and every thing that catches my eye. This year my children have gotten to the ages where they understand the beauty in the process and took the initiative to use permanent marker to brand their choices.

I have no qualms with ordering the children’s clothing, toys and household items from the Sears Catalogue, it’s a simple process because we have a catalogue store here in our town. When it comes to clothing for myself or hubby we drive 45 minutes away to be able to try on garments and ensure the right fit.

Sears recently gave me the opportunity to review their Sears Club Points program, they challenged me to use Sears Club Points to make a purchase and report to you all about the experience.

Let’s face it, there is always something that needs to be bought – shoes for the kids, replacing the broken refrigerator or another birthday present (really, another birthday party?!). Wouldn’t it be nice to know that all those things we need to purchase could end up providing you with something you really want to buy? With the Sears Club Points Program that’s exactly what happens. Whether online or in-store at Sears, you can use your Sears Club Points to purchase the items that you want.

When you receive a Sears Financial™ Mastercard® or Sears Card, you’re automatically enrolled in the Sears Club™ Points Program. That means you can get up to 2% back in rewards every time you shop!

Some of the Sears Club Benefits…

  • You can earn DOUBLE points at Sears everyday†
  • 1,000 points = $10 towards anything at Sears*, including travel
  • You can also donate them to Sears in your Community

You can redeem your points instantly when you shop at sears.ca, in your local Sears store and by phone at 1.800.901.9978. It really is that easy!

searsOff we went into the city, what you didn’t think I’d spend it all on the children did you? My hubby and I browsed around and realized that we’d chosen a great day to come because all Autumn outerwear was 30% off. I ended up purchasing a beautiful Burberry-style poncho and a tan suede jacket.

At the counter I proudly whipped out the Sears Club Points card and the clerk happily swiped it and viola! It was that simple, with just one swipe I added two beautiful garments to my wardrobe without the pain of draining my bank account. There is still points remaining on the card which will be spent on some Christmas items I’ve chosen for the girls, hey it’s not ALL about me!

Disclosure – I am participating in the Sears Club Points program by Mom Central Canada. I received compensation for my participation in this campaign. The opinions on this blog are my own.
