With 2013 in full swing I’ve been thinking about where I’m going in regards to food and drink on SoberJulie.com. Of course I’ll continue sharing my Marvelous Mocktail recipes and my favorite dishes but I wanted to refine it by planning ahead. My recipes for 2013 will be based upon nutrition and health benefits, of course I’ll throw in a dessert or two but they may have veggies hidden in them!
Let’s take a look at my 2012 Recipe Favs
Red Apple Delight non-alcoholic drink recipe
Last March I shared my Red Apple Delight recipe. It’s a refreshing drink to be enjoyed in lovely cocktail glasses. Dust off your best glasses and prepare for a treat! For a lighter recipe, blend your own juices or use sugar-free options.
This became a favorite with the folks on Pinterest as news of this simple, yet delicious Mocktail spread quickly!
Skinny Chicken Chilli Recipe
With the snow still on the ground last winter I was feeling drawn to eat fatty comfort foods. I managed to resist by making sure I had my Skinny Chicken Chilli on hand at all times.
This chilli is jammed with super veggies, very simple and quick to make and goes with almost any side dish you can imagine!
Watermelon Lemonade
With the warm weather came the need for some poolside mocktails! Thankfully I concocted a Watermelon Lemon recipe just in time for an afterschool Mommy/child playdate.
All of the Moms and children agreed that this was a tasty treat.
Prosciutto, Pesto Pizza Recipe
Summer at our house means swimming in the pool and cooking on the BBQ so of course we decided to try making our Prosciutto, Pesto Pizza on the grill.
This pizza brings a medley of fresh flavors, it combines chicken, pesto, tomatoes, cilantro, Alfredo sauces and cheese to bring an end result that pleases the palate!
Not So Blondie Brownie Recipe
With back to school came the dreaded lunch preparation. This year I had decided to try and avoid processed foods as possible and was happy to find a Blondie Brownie recipe I could modify to suit my children’s tastes.
Nobody will know that you’ve included a Navy bean puree in these delicious treats, yes I’m all about fooling folks into eating better.
I’m looking forward to all of the delicious, nutritious meals we’ll enjoy in 2013 and would appreciate if you could share links to recipes you love. Go on, help a sister out and toss me a link in the comments….I’m so glad I’ve learned to search for recipes online, through friends and on the Life Made Delicious website.

This is one of my favs I found on the internet, when trying to find a way to get my kids to eat veggies. It says it is kid approved, and that IS CORRECT! My kids love this!!! The whole meal gets eaten in one sitting by everyone. :-)

Mmmmm some great recipes here! I’ve been meaning to try your Not So Blondie recipe for a while. Must get on that.
One of my favorite snacks is nuts, they are full of protein and fill you up fast (and you stay full) but I also have a sweet tooth so this candied nuts recipe (which can be made sugar free if you prefer) is one of my favorites. Even if you don’t do the sugar free option it’s still a pretty healthy snack. I like to fill up those little snack bags and take one to work with me, that way I get the perfect portion.
