Jalapeno Poppers Recipe & Nordic Ware Review

Share Button

Next month I will be attending the Food Bloggers of Canada Conference on behalf of Chicken Farmers of Canada. This is an honor and a privilege indeed!

Included in the conference pass is some fantastic swag! Yesterday I received 3 gorgeous pieces from Nordic Ware which I was eager to try out.

nordic wareIn the package was:

  • Nordic Ware Pro Cast Traditions Aluminum 3 qt Dutch Oven
  • Nordic Ware Pro Cast Traditions Aluminum Traditions Braiser
  • Nordic Ware 365 Chicken Leg and Galapeno Griller

Of course I was excited, each of these are quality pieces that I wanted to use immediately but it was the 365 Chicken Leg and Jalapeno Griller which caught my attention.

After talking with my husband we scrapped out planned menu and decided upon chicken legs (I will provide this recipe in another post) and jalapeno poppers instead!

Cheesey Jalapeno Poppers Recipe

Ingredients:

  • Jalapeno peppers
  • 3 oz Cheddar cheese
  • 2 oz feta cheese
  • 2 oz goat cheese (we used bruschetta flavored)
  • Prosciutto (one thin slice per popper)

Preparation:

Begin by chopping off the stem end of the jalapeno pepper and coring it out.

Jalapeno Poppers

Next grate the cheddar and combine 2/3 of it with the feta and goat’s cheese.

Jalapno popper stuffing

Gently stuff each jalapeno pepper with the cheese mixture, use the end of a spoon to assist moving it right to the end if needed.

Jalapeno Poppers Stuffed

Lay each strip of prosciutto flat and gently roll the stuffed jalapeno popper into it. Leave a bit of a neck at the top end and fill with the remaining shredded cheddar.

This is where the beauty of the Nordic Ware 365 Chicken Leg and Jalapeno Griller comes in, we simply sat each wrapped jalapeno popper into its own hole and put it in the oven at 350 degrees with a foil-lined baking pan underneath.

Note: If you are cooking both the jalapeno poppers and chicken legs you’ll want to pre-cook the chicken half way before adding the jalapeno poppers.

Cook for approximately 20 minutes and voila!

jalapeno poppers finished

The result was delicious, the jalapeno poppers were evenly cooked and there was no sticking or burning. The griller is a fantastic tool for our kitchen and we can’t wait to try it on the BBQ!

I’d never heard of a griller like this until I read your review. This sounds like something my husband would love.
