Here in Southern Ontario the snow is falling, the toboggans are being brushed off and the kids are found to run in the house loudly proclaiming how cold they are with a strange kind of pride. Perhaps it’s because the Winter season has just begun, but the children run inside to tuck their freezing little hands into the crook of my neck to show off their chill.
This behaviour will continue for quite some time and along with it comes requests for hot chocolate multiple times a day. It’s become a tradition that I’ll have hot chocolate waiting on the stove for them as they peel off their snowsuits and drop their snowy mitts on the floor…never seeming to land in the appropriate bin.
In order to change things up I often try out different recipes and this one has become a favourite with our family.

I peppermint swizzle stick in hot chocolate is genius!
I wanted to pop-in and say “Hello!” before Cookie Week starts tomorrow. I can’t wait!
