We are a Netflix family. When the kids are allowed screen time, you’ll usually find them streaming one of the family-friendly shows from their favourites list on Netflix. We recently took the girls to the theatre to see Turbo and they both really enjoyed the movie.
It’s an adorable film whose main character is a speedy little snail which my kids instantly related to. Hence why I’m happy to announce the global television debut on Christmas Eve — Tuesday, December 24th at 12:01 AM PST — of DreamWorks Animation’s all new “Turbo F.A.S.T.” series exclusively on Netflix. Netflix is staggering the release, families will be able to stream the first five episodes this holiday season, with more new episodes premiering throughout the year.
Turbo Fast Overview
The first-ever Netflix original series for kids, DreamWorks’ Turbo FAST is a high-octane ensemble comedy that amps everything up to the extreme as Turbo and his adrenaline-fueled crew go on daring new adventures, race on the coolest tracks, and take on the craziest challengers. No matter how wild things get, these snails always have each other’s backs.
Stunt Team members — Turbo, Whiplash, Burn, Smoove Move, White Shadow, Skidmark and Chet– already have legions of fans from their appearance in the DreamWorks Animation’s feature film Turbo, which opened in theaters around the globe earlier this year and has already grossed more than $280 million. The all new television show digs deeper into the crazy personalities of the snail crew and features 2D design to create a stylized look reflective of the Stunt Team’s fast-paced, souped-up world.
Netflix granted my family access to a screener of Turbo Fast which thrilled the girls. We sat as a family with popcorn in our laps and we were pulled right into the story as if we were in the movie theatre. Turbo Fast feels just like the movie, the characters are precisely the same and the show is well thought out.
It isn’t easy to give you a proper review without giving away the whole thing but suffice it to say you won’t be disappointed. I have a soft spot for Chet and was pleased to see how they developed the character of Turbo’s brother. Turbo is amazed by his new “city” which was built by Tito for he and his pals. It’s so funny watching Tito communicating with Turbo, his seemingly soft character is a blessing to watch.
So the team has a city which they call home and what would a new city for racing snails be without a RACETRACK!! Tito laid down the tracks and the team modified it, customized and snailified it!
The story begins with a homecoming race……you know I was cheering for Burn!! There are twists and turns for the characters and even some nail biting moments….which we all enjoyed.
Ok see I’m starting to give it away….believe me, if your kids dig Turbo they’ll love Turbo Fast so mark your calendars for December 24th and be ready to get lost in this family-friendly, witty show!
