There are very few TV shows which I watch on a regular basis but as of the premiere episode of The Blacklist in September 2013 I have earned the title “SuperFan”. I have adored James Spader since my teen years when he appeared as the most arrogant boy I’d ever seen in Pretty in Pink. Not many actors could have pulled off the utter despicability of Steff.
I loved to hate James Spader early in life and with The Blacklist that feeling has continued. Spader plays the role of Raymond (Red) Reddington, a former government agent who has eluded capture for decades, but he suddenly surrenders to the FBI with an offer that can’t be refused and under one condition: Reddington will co-operate only with Elizabeth Keen, a rookie FBI profiler.
The relationship between Keen and Reddington is one filled with tension and a bizarre kind of love from Reddington. The plot eludes to the fact that he knows something of her past which they aren’t sharing yet but as I watched episode after episode, I was consistently wondering if he is her missing father.
This program has me on the edge of my seat with each episode! The characters are well thought out, the plot is unpredictable and I am always left wishing I had more.
To catch up on the season you can head to Global TV online where they have all the episodes available. And make sure to tune into Global TV on Monday night at 10pm EST to catch the latest episode which we’re all waiting for!
