In Love with Hoover Floormate Deluxe – Enter to WIN One

The day we removed the dusty rose carpet in this fixer-upper was a day of celebration for me. That carpet must have been laid in the ’80s and this girl was READY to pull our decor into the 2000s. For weeks I walked through out home luxuriating in the feel of the smooth hardwood, swept away dust and food bits exclaiming how all of this would have been hidden in the carpet…yes I gushed about my floors.

To this day I adore my hardwood but I have to admit that I am HORRIBLE at cleaning them. Cleaning my floors is something which my husband has banned me from doing. Wether I add too much cleaner and leave streaks, don’t scrub hard enough and leave a not-so-perfect job…I’ve failed utterly at cleaning my gorgeous hardwood and the task has fallen onto my guy.

Not anymore! I am taking back the floor washing and will no longer have to wait for my husband to have time to do it. Between the kids and the 2 dogs, I’ve been ignoring the state of my floors daily but I won’t have to anymore.

My Romance with the Hoover Floormate Deluxe

A few weeks ago the courier dropped me off a package to reivew, I didn’t know that would change my world! I’m not exaggerating at all, when I received the Hoover Floormate Deluxe I didn’t know I’d fall in love.

hoover floormate deluxe

When I opened the package I was shocked at how light the Floormate Deluxe is, it weights just 13.8 pounds and I easily lifted it and maneuvered it around. As a person who has suffered with a back/neck injury this was freeing, usually I struggle with the weight of these machines but not with this one.

hoover floormate deluxe out of box

The Hoover Floormate Deluxe was designed to provide the best clean while gently and safely scrubbing sealed hardwood, vinyl, ceramic tile, laminate and marble. It comes with 16 oz. Cleaning Detergent, a Wood Floor Brush and a Tile & Grout Brush.

As you can see in the photo below, my floors are smeary looking. ALL THE TIME.

dirty floor

I read the instructions and it was super simple, I just removed the “Clean tank” by pressing a button and filled it with water, added in the cleaner and plugged it in.

using hoover floormate deluxe

Now comes the cool part! I turned the unit on to begin washing, as I moved it forwards I pressed a button with my trigger finger and it sprayed the water/cleaner onto the floor. As I moved forward the Floormate Deluxe scrubbed and as I pulled the unit backwards, I released the trigger and the unit actually sucked up the water, drying the floor.

YES DRYING!

I repeated this process, overlapping each line by an inch until I had covered the area. As you can see in the photo below there was very little moisture left on the floor. Frankly at this stage the family had come home so I was rushing and may not have gone over the entire space carefully so I slowed down and switched the machine to the actual “DRY” mode.

cleaning floor

The amazing Hoover Floormate Deluxe (yes I love it) was a champ in the DRY mode, I went over all of my floor and it dried it up nicely just in time for our clan to begin messing it up again.

hoover floormate final

My favourite things about the Hoover Floormate Deluxe:

  • it’s lightweight and easy to move around
  • 2 tanks, makes the clean take always clean and the dirty water simple to dispose of
  • 2 heads, perfect for Tile/Grout or Hardwood
  • DRY function – brilliant
  • leaves NO streaks
  • fantastic results

Like so many others, we’ve found that every mop we’ve tried leaves a lot to be desired, so it’s pretty much a hands and knees effort with lots of rags. What makes it an especially big DRAG is that pretty much all of our floors are either hardwood or ceramic tiles, ugh, and with two new little ones (crawler/toddlers) in our extended family ~ we try to keep the floors as immaculate as possible!
