In my world, fabulous customer service matters! I’m sure we all feel that way and let’s be honest…we are frequently let down. Rather than focusing on the poor customer service, I’d like to talk today about an example of fantastic customer service I have had. If only all companies provided this kind of experience! Good customer service isn’t just about 1 representative but about a company that creates a culture where they are ready, willing and able to go the extra mile for a customer.
Recently I’ve become a member of #TeamTELUS, and TELUS is dedicated to providing stellar customer service each and every day. They’ve challenged me to share an example of a company I’ve had dealings with where they knocked my socks off.
How fabulous is it that TELUS wants to shine the light onto another company in order to praise them…another example of why I’ve been a customer at TELUS for over 20 years. To learn more about TELUS and how they are putting customers first check out http://www.telus.com/expectmore!
I travel often for business and often take my family along. If there’s one thing which can make my day when on the road it’s when something happens to make it easier. Last year I was heading to Dominican Republic with my family and we had booked a night at the Sheraton Airport Hotel. I tweeted to the hotel that we’d be staying with them for the night before flying out and expected nothing. We checked into our clean room and went to enjoy the pool. When we returned to our room we found that the hotel had left us a treat plate and a lovely note to enjoy our stay. Even though it’s a seemingly simple gesture, it’s an example of how a company can make you feel valued.
As a consumer, I find myself in customer service situations almost daily. Whether during a trip to the grocery store or a night out with the hubby. For me, good customer service is extremely important. A good customer service experience means I not only return, but I share my experience with others. Being that I am on social media outlets daily, you can always tell when I am a happy customer. Photos and a snippet of my awesome experiences can be found for those companies that did it right. You will see a lot of #TeamTELUS as well, since 20 years of great customer service can’t be ignored.
So what does great customer service look like? Well, here are a few traits that rank highest for me:
- Putting the customer first
- Listening
- Looking at the situation from the customer’s point of view
- Wanting to find a working solution rather than laying blame
- Going that extra mile for the customer
Obviously, there are so many facets to great customer service depending on the situation, but we all know when we find it. A great customer service experience makes all the difference. TELUS knows what it takes to put a smile on a customer’s face. Do you feel the same way about a company you have a service with?
