No-Fail Roasted Cauliflower Recipe with Garlic and BACON Recipe

So Brad and I have given up processed foods, breads and added sugars…yes friends we’ve been a bit grumpy with the change. Anyone who tells you that it’s simple to DRASTICALLY change your eating style is full of poop and I want to throat punch them. Now that I’ve shown you a bit of my less than happy side, I will tell you that the change has left us feeling way less bloated and dropping unwanted weight. We’ve been cooking up simple meals, meat and veggies but over time our staples are getting boring. We are now experimenting with different spices and flavours to jazz up these veggies we’re gorging on and one of the recipes is super simple, yet delicious…enter the Roasted Cauliflower with Garlic and BACON recipe. This is a no-fail Roasted Cauliflower recipe, I’ve ruined so many in the past because I’ve left it in too long or drowned it all in oils…but no more!

Eating clean is so good for us but we’re determined to make it delicious…and if you’re like me, bacon makes everything delicious! I always double the bacon called out in a recipe because in this house little hands seem to pinch the bacon off the counter as soon as it is cooked. By cooking double, I leave some on a plate to the side of where I’m working and it’s like bait for them. MONSTERS!

  • 1 head of cauliflower, cut into florets
  • 6 slices of bacon, cut into small slices
  • 4 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground pepper

PREPARATION
This recipe is so simple, I’m reluctant to type it out but here we go…

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F
  2. Place the cauliflower florets into a bowl and toss with the olive oil and toss in the baconsoberjulie-roasted-cauliflower-in-bowl
  3. Spread the cauliflower and bacon onto a baking sheet and top with garlic, salt and peppersoberjulie-roasted-cauliflower-pan
  4. Roast for 20 minutes then use a spatula to flip the cauliflower and put back into the oven for another 1o minutes.soberjulie-roasted-cauliflower-oven

Watch it though; the smaller you cut the florets, the faster it will cook and every oven cooks differently

This looks very good. I try to cook as much as I can from scratch and for a long while I made my own bread but I am back to buying it from the store as it was so much work but I don’t think I could give it up!

I really like cauliflower roasted in the oven – broken up into florets, tossed with oil and salt and pepper and garam masala. really brings out the sweetness, and I’m sure those spices have anti oxident powers.
