If you’re travelling to Florida any time soon, I urge you to check out the Gulf Coast. I was invited by Visit Florida to come and see the area and to specifically spend time in Pensacola and The Emerald Coast areas. They are like a slice of heaven has been placed upon the Earth.
With the glorious emerald waters, the snow white sand and the gracious Southern charm of the residents…you’re sure to have a wonderful trip.
I’ve written in depth about my trip with detailed information about the culinary experience and hotels and today I wanted to share some must-see family activities which I know you’ll enjoy.
GULFARIUM MARINE ADVENTURE PARK
Located on Ookaloosa Island in Fort Walton Beach, the Gulfarium Marine Adventure Park is a treat for kids. General admission is $21.95 for adults and $13.95 for children. This will give you access for an entire day and with so much going on you could easily spend that much time here. With endless animal encounter opportunities, dolphin and sea-lion shows, daily animal chats, and amazing exhibits to view, your visit will be filled with fun and adventure! View hours and schedule here.
SOUTHERN STAR DOLPHIN CRUISE
If you have anyone in your family who loves dolphins like I do then you really should check out Southern Star Dolphin Cruises. They’re located in Destin, the fee for adults is $29 and children are $14.50. The Original Dolphin Cruise is 2 hours long and takes you through Destin Harbour and out to the Gulf of Mexico. The kids have the chance to drive the boat and you’re sure to see dolphin!
Scoot Coupe Adventure
When in the Pensacola Beach area, your kids will LOVE to go on a Scoot Coupe Adventure which can be arranged with Portofino Island Resort. These 3 wheeled, open-air vehicles are a BLAST and you can drive right on the road and explore the coast!
HISTORIC PENSACOLA
One activity we really enjoyed was taking a tour of Historic Pensacola. There are museum exhibits, guided and self-guided home tours and interaction with period-dressed living history interpreters who keep the children engaged. Tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for children. This tour can take as long as you’d like as there’s so many historic homes to explore.
FORT PICKENS
Anyone in your family enjoy history? How about visiting a real fort where battles were fought? Fort Pickens is in Pensacola and is a great way to immerse yourselves into the history. It is open 7am until 10pm and there’s plenty to explore.
Thank you to Visit Florida for inviting me to tour the area, although this post is sponsored all opinions are my own.
What fun there can be had.
Florida is my next vacation destination I want to go in GULFARIUM MARINE ADVENTURE PARK to witness the live crocodile
