Bacon Wrapped Jalapeno Popper Appetizer Recipe

Share Button

We all have a appetizer recipe to make and mine is this super easy Bacon Wrapped Jalapeno Popper recipe, so when my friends challenged me to come up with a Bacon-Wrapped Appetizer it didn’t take me much to decide. My friend Jody introduced us to these babies at a dinner party she hosted and we’ve been making them regularly since. They are dead simple and so much more delicious than the common jalapeno poppers. Bacon just makes everything better doesn’t it?

As I told you in my Layered Pumpkin Cheesecake recipe article last week, I’ve teamed up with my friends Stacey (ThisLilPiglet.net) and Randa (TheBewitchinKitchen.com) to bring you Entertaining ideas for the 2016 Holiday Season. This year we’ll be sharing some of our favourite recipes and tips! We will have a theme twice a week and within each post, I’ll be linking to the other ladies’ ideas. This week the theme is Bacon-Wrapped appetizers!!!

At the end of this article I’m linking to their lovely recipes…be sure to check them out!

PREPARATION

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
  2. Slice the jalapenos in half lengthwise and scrape out the seeds and white rind.
  3. Pat the jalapeno dry and spread cream cheese inside it, the amount is up to you….we tend to be generous with it.
  4. Lay a piece of bacon down, place the stuffed jalapeno on it and gently wrap the bacon around it.
  5. Secure the bacon with a toothpick or two.
  6. Line up the wrapped jalapenos on a baking sheet and cook on 400 degrees Fahrenheit for approximately 20 minutes.
  7. Cook until the bacon is done to your taste… some prefer it crispy, some don’t.

These sound delicious. I am a jalapeño popper fiend. Can’t wait to give these a test run before I make them for a party.

I made these last night for a Super Bowl party. I used jalapeño cream cheese mixed with fine,y shredded cheddar for the stuffing. I had thick sliced bacon so I turned the oven heat up to 425 and baked them 23-25 minutes until the bacon was nicely browned. Delicious!!!!
