As a family of four who loves to travel, we are always on the hunt for GREAT resorts that meet all of our needs. One of our favourite travel locations is Florida and when I invited by The Florida Keys tourism board to visit Hawks Cay Resort I jumped at the chance. Hawks Cay Resort is located smack dab in the middle of The Florida Keys on an island called Duck Key. It’s about 45 minute drive from Key West and an hour from Miami.
Hawks Cay boasts that it has the best of the Keys waiting for you…and they’re not wrong! There is so much to do at this resort; kayaking, mini golf, beach volleyball, a lagoon, kids camp, a spa, fire pits, organized entertainment, pools, snorkelling, paddleboarding…and those are just a taste! I was there for only 2 nights and believe me when I say that I plan on going back with the family next time!
Hawks Cay seems to have accommodation styles for everyone. There are villas, vacation apartments and hotel rooms of varying types. When I return with my family, I would like to stay in a villa with multiple bedrooms, full kitchen and laundry facilities.
For my stay, my room was simply stunning. I had the pleasure of staying in a Water View Laini Guest room which had a massive private deck that leads directly to the adults-only Tranquility Pool.
My friend Stacey stayed in a King Junior Suite which is AMAZING. It’s massive! With the open-concept bedroom/living room overlooking the main pool and views of the lagoon, it’s simply luxurious.
If you’re looking for relaxation, may I suggest heading to the Calm Waters Spa while at Hawks Cay? After a busy week in Florida, I jumped at the chance to enjoy a Sea Stone massage and am so glad I did!! This was hands-down the BEST massage I’ve ever had and I’ve had many.
The spa is glorious in itself, the atmosphere is luxurious and you’re free to use the relaxation area, steam room, jacuzzi and saunas all day long.
Dining at Hawks Cay is delicious! I enjoyed the breakfast bar at Ocean restaurant where the relaxing atmosphere would be fantastic for families.
We also ate some dinners at Angler and Ale which is located at Duck Key Marina, just a short shuttle bus ride away. This is a new restaurant where fresh ingredients and a culinary imagination combined to some super delicious dishes.
Hawks Cay is a resort I’d highly recommend; their attention to detail, superior customer service and family-friendly atmosphere have me planning our family’s vacation there next year.
