Carnival Fantasy – A Cruise Ship For Everyone #CCLWinter

March 8, 2014 By SoberJulie 23 Comments

Just 5 days ago my husband and I stood on the sun deck of the Carnival Fantasy cruise ship enjoying a beautiful sunset together while our children were enjoying Camp Carnival. This was our first time cruising and although I'd done heaps of planning and research for this 5 day Bahamas cruise I don't think I'd really understood how much we would enjoy it. I have so much to share with you all, from the amazing food, to entertainment I foresee many articles here sharing our experiences. ...

My 10yr Old Developed Her Own Orange Peach Smoothie Recipe

February 24, 2014 By SoberJulie 39 Comments

We are on a road trip to South Carolina but I simply had to share this recipe with you all while I'm gone. Recently I was running a bit late in my day which meant that I was still working on my Fuzzy Navel Mocktail recipe when my daughters arrived home from school. The girls always love when this happens, I allow them to get involved and taste test each and every mixture. It does slow me down but it becomes somewhat of a family event. Screams for athletes from England and Canada rang from our home into the streets. Each of the games holds different fond family memories for me which can be ignited simply by ...

1st Time on a Cruise – Planning a Cruise With Carnival #CCLWinter

February 18, 2014 By SoberJulie 5 Comments

My husband has always wanted to go on a cruise, but living in Canada we thought it would be out of our budget when facing some hefty airfares to reach the port. We have decided to take a road trip to Charleston, South Carolina where we will board the Carnival Fantasy and cruise to the Bahamas for a 5 day family trip. Planning a cruise can seem daunting, there are so many choices to make but when you break it all down it's not as intimidating as it seems. We have booked a 5 day Cruise to ...

4 years Sober & Turning 41 – It’s my Birthday Week! #SoberBday

February 3, 2014 By SoberJulie 11 Comments

February is a BIG month for me personally, this week I'll turn 41 and celebrate being 4 years sober! I was born on February 9th and I adore Birthday celebrations so it's been the month to wait for since I was a little girl. Little Julie was known to have a Birthday countdown going from mid-August, happily sharing the daily status until it drove my Mum and Dad batty. I remember the year I was 8 years old I kept a calendar next to my bed and each night I'd put a red X across the day with ...
